Hula Hula opened in late 2025 and has become the most-discussed new destination near Hurghada. We have been running tours there since it opened. Here is the honest review.
What It Is
A purpose-built island facility about 25 minutes by speedboat from Hurghada marina. The setup is more developed than Orange Bay: a fixed wooden pier, thatched shade structures, a small food court, and an organized beach with marked swimming areas.
What It Has That Orange Bay Does Not
Inflatable water toys (slides, trampolines, paddleboards) are included in the entry fee. The water is shallower and more protected, so it is a better choice for younger children. The food options are better — proper meals, not just snacks.
What Orange Bay Still Does Better
The water at Orange Bay is clearer and the sand is whiter. The snorkeling on the reef edge is significantly better. If you are coming for snorkeling, Orange Bay wins. If you are coming for a family beach day with activities, Hula Hula wins.
The Verdict
Both islands are worth visiting. Our 3-hour Hula Hula tour is the better option for families with kids under 10, or for groups that want activities. Our Orange Bay tour is better for couples and for anyone whose priority is water clarity and snorkeling.
Practical Info
Hula Hula tours run daily. We leave Hurghada at 8:30 am and 1:00 pm. The boat ride is 25 minutes each way, leaving about 90 minutes on the island — which is the right amount of time. Lunch is not included in the tour; the island food court accepts cash and card.
