Giftun Island National Park — Complete Guide

Giftun Island National Park (also known as Giftun National Park or simply "The Giftuns") is a protected marine reserve located approximately 20 kilometers offshore from Hurghada. Established to preserve the Red Sea's fragile coral reef ecosystems, the park covers an area of over 500 square kilometers and includes several small islands, extensive coral gardens, and the famous dolphin habitats of "Dolphin House."

The park is home to three main island destinations accessible by speedboat from Hurghada: Orange Bay (the most developed and most photographed), Eden Island (quieter, best snorkeling), and the main Giftun Island itself (the largest, with untouched beaches on its north side). All are protected under Egyptian environmental law, which means no construction, no fishing, and strict visitor guidelines to preserve the marine ecosystem.

The waters surrounding the Giftun Islands are among the clearest in the Red Sea, with visibility frequently exceeding 25 meters. The park is home to over 200 species of coral and 500 species of fish, including angelfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, groupers, and seasonal sightings of sea turtles, rays, and reef sharks. Dolphin House, located within the park, is the area's most reliable spot for spinner dolphin sightings.
